What is GPS?

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS was originally intended for military applications, but in the 1980s, the government made the system available for civilian use. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. There are no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS.

How it works

GPS satellites circle the earth twice a day in a very precise orbit and transmit signal information to earth. GPS receivers take this information and use triangulation to calculate the user's exact location. Essentially, the GPS receiver compares the time a signal was transmitted by a satellite with the time it was received. The time difference tells the GPS receiver how far away the satellite is. Now, with distance measurements from a few more satellites, the receiver can determine the user's position and display it on the unit's electronic map

IT SAVED OUR TIMES

IT applications are everywhere in the modern business and their great advantage is the way that they can lower costs. One way that costs can be lowered is in time saving. For example, time is saved in the retrieval of information from a database or website. Rapid searches can be carried out by simply cueing in a key word such as the name of a customer or a component.

Another way that time can be saved is in the rapid duplication of information. For example, an e-mail can be sent to all of the relevant members of an organization simply by creating a pre-prepared mailing list for all communications of a certain type.
Material can be rapidly edited and altered using modern desktop computers.

Information Technology enables the global communication of information, as well as the global retrieval of information from databases and websites regardless of geographical distance.

Little About Me

My name is Nur Azfarina Binti Mohd Adnan.  You all can call me Rina.  I am 19 years old. I live in Taiping,Perak.  I study in UiTM Sri Iskandar, Perak. In course Office Management. For your information, this is my first blog that I have created and design.  Before this, I do not know nothing about blog, how to create blog and actually I do not like so much all about this. =) But, now, I was given the assignment to create a blog for subject CSC134.  And the title is IT.  For me this title challenging me and makes me to learn as much as possible how to create a blog.  Starting from the date assignment was given, I have learned how to make and also explore all about blogs.  With the title that given, I tried all the best to make my blog interesting and attract people to view my blog.  I hope you all like my blog=)

THE FIRST TIME I KNOW ABOUT IT

The first time I knew about IT when I in form 1.  Then my dad gave me the phone easy to contact them. Nokia is my first brand..then in form 4, I have change to CSL phone..But it just only a few months (I think only 8 months)..then I used Sony Ericson until now…Urmmm…then when I in form  5, my dad gave me a laptop..Ienovo..started that day,I tried to explore about It n know all about It. And the laptop that my father gave me, I used until now in UiTM.  All my work I do in this laptop. I love all this gadjet..And I will try to use all of this as long as I can..Now im realize, without all this gadjet and without IT, its hard for me to do my work and know the news that happen around me.=)And for your information, the phone on the top (red color)is the phone that I used now=)
